Abdur graduated from Onderstepoort in 2015, where his passion for anaesthesia was kindled during his final year of study. After completing community service, Abdur returned to Onderstepoort for a small animal internship and then residency in veterinary anaesthesia. In 2021, he graduated with a master’s degree in veterinary anaesthesia, allowing him to register as a veterinary specialist in South Africa. In 2022, Abdur wrote and passed his certifying exam for the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, granting him the privilege of being recognized as a specialist internationally.

Abdur particularly enjoys the anaesthesia of dogs for cardiothoracic procedures, acid-base physiology and post-operative intensive care.
