Enterprises University of Pretoria is an entity that commercialises the research outcomes of the University of Pretoria through contract research, consulting and specialist advisory services.
We are in the process of strengthening our business development capabilities in the Built Environment. The Research and Consulting Solutions Division is looking for a talented professional who will apply his/her business acumen, grow business portfolios and thrive in an environment that is largely shaped by innovation and foresight.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and experience:
• A tertiary qualification of at least 3 years in duration and a post-graduate degree, preferably in the areas of Business Management/ Commerce/ Marketing (NQF 8).
• Business Development (Sales/ Marketing/Consulting) experience.
• Contract Research experience.
• Project and contract management experience (including financial experience).
• Tenders, quotations, proposals and report writing.
Behavioural competencies:
• Strategic thinking and project execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in proposal writing and presenting at various organisational levels.
• Operate in a high pressure target driven environment.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence.
• Exceptional business acumen.
• High proficiency in the Microsoft product suite (including Co-pilot).
• Ability to market solutions and services to a diverse client base, including the public and private sector as well as international clients.
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and build long-term client relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish, manage and grow his/her own business portfolio through contract research and consulting opportunities.
• Continuously develop Business intelligence (BI) and to transform that BI into sound solutions and services.
• Market solutions and services to a diverse client’s base, including the public and private sector as well as international clients.
• Conceptualise new solutions and services.
• Analyse and manage large and diverse volumes of information.
• Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
• Contribute to contract negotiations.
• Achieve sales and income targets.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
