The Training Solutions division is seeking a Course Development Specialist. The Course Development Specialist will lead the strategic conceptualisation, design, and delivery of high-quality, market-driven training solutions tailored for professionals across diverse industries. This role entails full oversight of product development projects, from in-depth research and needs analysis to final implementation, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of Enterprises UP, the University of Pretoria’s standards, and relevant accreditation requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and qualifications:
• A post-graduate qualification (NQF 8) in Business, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• South African citizen.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
• 6 years of experience in learning and development, working with multiple stakeholders within the curriculum development, instructional design and training environment.
• 3 years of experience in planning, organising, and controlling course development.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards related to training and education.
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
• Experience in managing the development of interactive and engaging learning content.
• Understanding of instructional design standards and best practices.
• Ability to influence and network.
• Solid understanding of adult learning theories.
• Advanced computer literacy (MS Office).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skill.
• Project management skills.
• Attention to detail and deadline-driven.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define course objectives and ensure alignment with industry needs.
• Lead course development and ensure timely, high-quality training delivery.
• Oversee instructional design, integrating adult learning and innovative strategies.
• Partner with experts to create industry-relevant, problem-based courses.
• Ensure competency-based learning with clear outcomes and assessments.
• Guide content development for diverse learning styles and professional contexts.
• Manage the full course lifecycle, from design to evaluation.
• Identify risks, mitigate, and report progress.
• Coordinate teams to deliver customized, accredited micro-credentials.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain quality assurance.
• Support direct reports and foster a high-performance team culture.
• Provide insights to enhance programs and support data-driven decisions.
